The Hilschers belonged to an old, wealthy family of bourgeois of Jelenia Góra. Around 1480 Georg Hilscher was the mayor of the town. Another representative of the family, Hans Hilscher, was a carpenter master in the 16th century. Hans Hilscher was probably a merchant.
